Batchin’ in Cartagena

The first time in Cartagena was back in 2023 when I took my man home to his roots for the first time. This time, I came back for a completely different vibe: my friend's bachelorette weekend!

Let me tell you, Cartagena is an amazing destination for a bachelorette trip.

We stayed in such a nice Airbnb — all neutral tones, super aesthetic, and right in the heart of the Walled City. It was the perfect home base for exploring and lounging. If you’re looking for a hotel Casa San Agustín is the BEST. The food in the hotel restaurant Alma is INCREDIBLE. Every dish was top-tier, super flavorful, beautifully presented, and honestly, some of the best in the city. And let’s talk about the welcome drink... easily one of the best drinks I’ve ever had. It was that good. We actually asked them to spike it with a little alcohol, and after that, me and my man stayed sipping on those all weekend long. Highly recommend stopping in — even if you're not staying at the hotel, it’s worth it for the food and cocktails. I even went back with one of my girlfriends during the batchlorette. Recap Part One.

Boat Day = Best Day. Make sure to re-apply your spf! I got so burnt.

Our Airbnb host helped us organize a private boat day, and it was honestly the highlight of the weekend. We headed out to Bora Bora Beach Club — and you have to add it to your list. Everything was immaculate: the vibe, the music, the food (get the lobster, trust me). There were even other bachelorette groups partying there too, so it's definitely a hotspot for groups like ours. You will see some clips in my recap. Also, just something to note, Colombia’s coastline around Cartagena doesn’t have many beautiful beaches on land. So, if you’re dreaming of stunning blue waters, you’ll need to take a boat out to the Rosario Islands.

One of the days we just walked around all day shopping and exploring. I enjoyed shopping around. I got some really unique fans and some souvenirs (bags and coffee). And ladies!! If you love Costa Baobab, you’re in for a treat.. It’s actually made in Colombia, so everything is about 50% off compared to the U.S. You can even buy a coffee right in the shop to sip while you browse.

Cafe Havana I loved this place! If you're in the mood to dance look no further. There was a live band playing salsa, the crowd was lively, and mojitos flowing. It’s the perfect spot for a fun, music-filled night out. Don’t worry if you’re not a salsa pro! They even had some teachers. All I was missing was a cigar.

Tierra This place is excellent!! Flavor and presentation 10/10. Highly recommend.

Época Café Bar I got an iced coffee with caramel! The perfect pick-me-up.

Harry’s Sasson Restaurant I went here in 2023 but I remember the crab nachos were incredible. Also a nice dining garden area.

One thing on my list I didn't get to do is the Totumo Mud Volcano, just outside the city. You can soak in a warm mud bath and it’s supposed to be amazing for your skin.

So, if you’re ready for an amazing tan, salsa, lobster, and good coffee and food Cartagena is calling your name. Pack your sunscreen, your dancing shoes, and your appetite this city will not disappoint. Until next time, keep exploring and living your best travel life! xx Tao
